March 3rd, 2005 Ariadne Press Exhibit The Austrian Cultural Attache (Los Angeles), Consul Bernhard Faustenhammer came to our campus to look at the Ariadne Press books, exhibited in the Pfau library. Ariadne Press is a publishing company specializing in Austrian literature, culture and thought. It has been in existence for about 18 years and we have published a little over 220 titles - mainly translations of Austrian authors, but also scholarly studies. In fact the first published book in English was on 2004 Nobel Prize Winner Elfriede Jelinek. What makes the exhibit especially interesting is the fact that one of the two cases features the covers designed by Professor George McGinnis (Art Department), and the second one shows covers designed by students of the design classes. |
